Delara Ahmadi Darani

My journey as an artist began at the age of 13 in Isfahan, Iran, where I first fell in love with watercolor painting. Those early years allowed me to develop a strong foundation in color, composition, and artistic expression. As my skills and interests evolved, I transitioned to realistic paintings using pastel, exploring the beauty of detail and the emotional connection that realism can create.

Throughout my artistic career in Isfahan, I held numerous exhibitions and had the privilege of sharing my work with many art lovers. These experiences helped shape me both personally and professionally, encouraging me to continue growing as an artist.

After immigrating to Montreal, Canada, I discovered a new source of inspiration that led me to explore abstract art. Working primarily with acrylics, I embraced a more expressive and intuitive style, using bold colors, rich textures, and dynamic compositions to communicate emotion and ideas beyond realism. I have since participated in several exhibitions in Montreal, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see that people here have also connected with and appreciated my artwork.

Today, my work focuses on abstract and contemporary art. I enjoy combining vibrant colors, layered textures, and expressive forms to create paintings that invite viewers to interpret each piece through their own experiences and emotions. For me, every painting is an opportunity to tell a story without words and to create a meaningful connection with those who experience it.
